Vinden de kazen van de hoofdsponsor reeds hun weg over de gehele wereld, nu gaat ook Volleybalvereniging Prima Donna Kaas Huizen de grenzen over. Luxemburg zal het doel van de reis worden en enkele leden van de dames 1 selectie lichten graag toe wat er allemaal gaat gebeuren. Middelpunt van de belangstelling en aanleiding van de reis, Carla Mulli, vertelt verder over haar komende wedstrijden met de Nationale ploeg van Luxemburg.
Afgelopen zaterdag speelde wij, PDK dames 1, onze laatste competitiewedstrijd van het jaar. Dit betekent echter niet dat we stil blijven zitten! Aanstaande vrijdag vertrekken we namelijk naar Luxemburg voor een weekend vol met volleybal! Er staan 2 wedstrijden tegen het nationale team van Luxemburg op het programma, dus we spelen niet zomaar tegen een team. Vrijdagochtend zullen we met busjes richting Luxemburg rijden, waar we na aankomst in een mooi hostel nog een training zullen afwerken. Zaterdag gaan we eerst de stad Luxemburg verkennen en wat cultuur snuiven. In de middag gaan we trainen en vervolgens hebben we ‘s avonds onze eerste wedstrijd tegen het nationale team van Luxemburg. Maar… we missen één speelster! Carla, een van onze diagonaal-speelsters, speelt namelijk voor het nationale team van Luxemburg. Zij hebben ons uitgenodigd om tegen hen te spelen als voorbereiding op een belangrijk toernooi waar zij elk jaar aan deelnemen. Dit is de Novotel Cup, waarbij ze tegen landen als IJsland en Schotland spelen. Natuurlijk weerhoudt het feit dat Carla met de tegenstander mee doet, ons er niet van om voor de volle winst te gaan! Zondagochtend zullen we onze tegenstander uitgebreid analyseren, zodat we na de lunch goed voorbereid de tweede wedstrijd kunnen knallen! Daarna vertrekken we weer naar Nederland.
Na dit leerzame weekend kunnen we gaan genieten van twee vrije weken om vervolgens weer keihard aan de bak te gaan in de tweede helft van het seizoen!

This coming weekend the Luxembourgish Women’s National Team will host a stage in Esch-sur-Alzette with the main purpose of training and preparing for upcoming competitions. The team will train from Friday to Saturday and has invited the Dutch club PDK Huizen to play two friendly games as a part of this preparation. Upcoming competitions that the Women are preparing for include the 32nd edition of the annual Novotel Cup hosted by Luxembourg which will take place shortly after the stage. It is organized every year around New Years and at this event both the Men and Women’s National teams compete in a 3 day tournament against other national teams or clubs. In the past, the Women have played against teams such as Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Albania, Scotland and San Marino at the Cup. Mainly however, the team will be preparing for their competitions that occur in the summer. Amongst these competitions is the 2019 Games of the Small States of Europe taking place in Montenegro. In the last edition of the Games of the Small States, Luxembourg took home bronze and this time they want to do even better. As the girls in the National team all play for different clubs, mainly within Luxembourg, this training weekend and several others in the future allow them to come together and intensely train to be able to perform at their best when the summertime comes. Luxembourg looks forward to welcoming the Dames 1 team of PDK Huizen and is ready for an intense volleyball – weekend.
